Rain, Rain, Finally Went Away... | Indianapolis Engagement Photography

There's an old adage that goes something along the lines of "good things come to those who wait".  Well, for this couple, on this night, we waited out the rain and landed in a pot of gold...

Our session was due to start at 530pm.  And thanks to Indiana summer so far, we were promptly met with high humidity all day that inevitably gave way to not 1, not 2, but 3 hours of thunderstorms and POURING rain.

We decided to take shelter at Triton Brewery where we enjoyed some delicious brews that helped take the edge off the rain (and more rain).  This lovely couple booked us on the phone all the way from Michigan for their 2017 wedding at The Sycamore at Mallow Run Winery . They were down visiting family in Brown County (consequently, no rain there...) and met us at Fort Harrison State Park to get our session in.

2.5 hours later, we sat in the parking lot parked next to each other, feverishly looking at our weather apps and hoping the rain and storms would subside, and boy did they.  Quite possibly one of my favorite sessions we were able to get in.  The storm clouds cleared and gave way to a wondrous mid summer glow that seemingly only Indiana can show.

So, friends, fans and anyone else reading this, next time it rains on your parade, wait it out if you can, and maybe you too will be rewarded like this!
